What is the ECO Plus Scheme?
The ECO Plus scheme was first introduced as the next phase of the Energy Company Obligation Scheme.
ECO+ was introduced to augment the support provided by the existing ECO4 Scheme, which aims to assist the UK’s most energy-inefficient homes in reducing their energy bills. Unlike the ECO4 scheme, which requires individuals to be receiving government benefits to qualify, ECO+ extends its benefits to a broader audience. This expansion allows more households to access energy-saving measures and improve their home’s energy efficiency.
The key difference between ECO4 and ECO+ lies in the eligibility criteria. While ECO4 targets households receiving government benefits, ECO+ opens opportunities to a wider range of homeowners and tenants who may not meet the specific eligibility requirements of ECO4. This inclusivity ensures that more individuals can benefit from energy-saving initiatives and contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.
